Brought to you from the quirky minds of poets and producers Robbie Q Telfer and Shanny Jean Maney, The Encyclopedia Show showcases visual art, comedy, music and spoken word on a wide variety of subjects related to a chosen topic.
Each month a new topic is picked at random from the encyclopedia and assignments are sent to a diverse group of writers, artists, poets and performers. The Encyclopedia Show draws its novice and notable talent from chicago area and national artists in the slam, academic and youth artists' communities.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Our February Show, Explorers, will take place at the Vittum Theatre (1012 North Noble Street) in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. Street parking is usually available. Augusta and Noble are non-metered streets. Milwaukee is metered.
Welcome to The Encyclopedia Show
"We saw a hole in the Chicago poetry scene that Slam couldn't fill.
I think a lot more can be done with the form than just competition."
-Robbie Q Telfer in TimeOut Chicago
