ROBBIE Q. TELFER ("Best Local Poet" - Chicago Reader) and SHANNY JEAN MANEY (Winner 2011 Write Bloody Publishing Book Competition) are back at 7:30PM on February 1st for a night of fun, facts, and frivolity as they host another verbal encyclopedia entry at the Vittum Theater (1012 N. Noble).
THE ENCYCLOPEDIA SHOW is a Trivial Pursuit of accidental knowledge. This literary variety show, accredited by The Institute of Human Knowledge and Hygiene, has an unrivaled nerd-core charm. All ages, $8 for adults, $5 for students, free to all would-be sponsors!
Commissioning exceptional local talent, nationally touring artists, and renowned experts that have included Lynda Barry, Sonia Sanchez, Bill Ayers, and Marc Smith among others, The Encyclopedia Show is known to feature spoken word, monologues, storytelling, live music, comedy, lovable characters, and yes, even actual experts. These encyclonauts will leave no truth unturned and no fact unchallenged when they take on this month's featured topic, CANDY!

Our cast of characters, including the Fact Checker, Patrick the Intern, Jilted Emily Rose and house band The Encartagans, will be showing you their sweet side this month! The deliciousness continues with our toothsome contributors, including progressive rocker Bobby Conn from Local Band, Christopher Piatt of Paper Machete fame, knockout poet Jamila Woods, and decadent visual artist Dan Murdoch. We are also joined by Peter Cook, renowned ASL performance poet and, as an extra treat, the entire show will be interpreted in American sign language. Join us for a side-splitting sideshow about CANDY -- this will be too good to miss!
